Four Reasons EPAC’s networking events are worth your time

You work hard.

You love what you do, but it can leave you tired and…feeling stretched thin. As a commercial contractor, you always have multiple “irons in the fire,” SO much to do, and deadlines to meet.

You DON’T have time (or money) to waste on things that won’t produce results for your business.

So when you hear about one of EPAC’s networking events, you need to know that it’s worth the limited space on your calendar.

No time to waste

Time is one of your most valuable resources, and you don’t want to waste it.

We understand — we really do.

It’s completely fair to want to use your time to the best of your advantage. “How will this help my business?” is an essential (and legitimate) question for any business owner to ask.

At EPAC, we want to see your business grow. We exist to serve our member companies and provide opportunities to make valuable relationships.

And we believe that our networking events and mixers are one of the best ways to achieve these goals.

It’s kind of a cliche saying, but it’s true — sometimes it’s not what you know, but who you know.

For many construction businesses, the pieces are already in place: professional knowledge, quality work, and the drive to succeed. What’s missing?

Connections.

That’s why we’ve designed our networking events and mixers to help members reach out and meet new people.

If you are still on the fence about whether attending EPAC’s networking events is worth your time, here are four reasons members should put them on the calendar.

4 reasons you should go to EPAC activities and mixers

1. Networking

EPAC is the premier commercial contracting organization in the region. Our membership is 150 and growing — and includes general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and associates.

EPAC’s networking events are a great way to meet some of these leading members of the El Paso construction community. They’re available at no additional cost to our members, and can provide wonderful opportunities to expand your business circle.

And business relationships can happen naturally, because everyone is there for the same reason as you: to build their network.

2. Building a stronger community

Investing in El Paso

As an organization, we at EPAC seek to use our influence to support and improve our community.

We look for ways to make a positive impact, like supporting school bond issues by raising awareness and encouraging people to vote in favor. And one of EPAC’s networking events — our end-of-the-year toy drive — helps to bring smiles to underprivileged children in our area.

Not only does this support our community, it provides visibility, builds trust, and gets your business’ name out in a positive way.

Prioritizing local business

Alongside being active in the community, EPAC also advocates for local contractors. El Paso is a place like no other. As members of the Borderland, we know and love our community — and want to open opportunities for local businesses.

Relationships made through community service and EPAC networking events help entities recognize the value of keeping work local. Instead of bringing in outside companies, these decision makers see the faces and learn the names of El Paso contractors who are qualified, professional, and invested in the community.

Doing business locally supports the local economy — and means more money, jobs, and opportunities for El Pasoans.

3. Resources

EPAC’s networking events are a treasure trove of potential resources for your business. Whether you need local work done for your company, are looking for a supplier, or just want business exposure, these mixers and activities are a great place to make relationships — and find out what resources are available right here in El Paso!

In 2022, we are offering seminars from certified public accounts (CPAs) and local law firms. Free to our members, these seminars provide valuable advice and insights to help your company.

And our OSHA partnership, apprenticeship training programs, and leadership seminars can give you tools and opportunities for certification, career advancement, and growth.

3. Fun…with a purpose

We’ve listed three reasons how EPAC’s networking events can help you achieve your business goals.

The last reason on our list is that they are a lot of fun…with a purpose!

Like we mentioned earlier, we know how hard you work as a commercial contractor. Our events can provide much needed time to relax and enjoy yourself with like-minded people in the industry — while also making relationships that benefit your business.

2022: Our most exciting year to date

2022 promises to be jam-packed with networking opportunities. We have events on the calendar every month, including:

  • Membership meetings: valuable content to help you grow on a personal and business level.
  • Mixers: fun, refreshments, and opportunities to connect.
  • Top Golf: build relationships through fun.
